Shaping the future: a critical time for housing and NHC

Your involvement is crucial to addressing today’s housing challenges. NHC relies on your active membership to enhance our impact on your work and that of our colleagues.

To our current members, thank you for your ongoing support. The dedication and effort of members like you enable NHC to remain a leader in tackling the housing challenges of the 21st century, making us “the place where housers come to get things done.” As we kick off our membership drive, now is the best time to renew your membership for 2025 to take advantage of additional member benefits.

And for those who are not currently members, please join today. Whether you are an individual, a nonprofit, or for-profit organization, we have a membership level tailored to meet your specific needs. Our Emerging Leaders in Affordable Housing is designed for those 35 and under at just $50 a year, individual memberships are $100, nonprofit memberships start at $1,000, and for-profit memberships start at $2,500, although we hope that you will consider joining our Leadership Circle to make a bigger difference.

By becoming an NHC member you can take advantage of exclusive networking opportunities, receive our weekly Member Brief containing the latest housing news and developments, and access to our Member Note which covers major economic developments and dialogues on today’s crucial housing matters. We also continue to expand and launch new resources to help our members stay informed about today’s most pressing housing issues.

Our new member-only Housing Resource Center, currently available for a limited time to the public, offers thousands of housing policy and research resources to help you make informed decisions and actively shape effective housing policies. Our Paycheck to Paycheck database now offers year-over-year data comparisons, while our Employer Assisted Housing (EAH) Toolkit looks at the potential of EAH programs—while exploring existing challenges such as tax implications. Our podcast “Beyond Four Walls: Conversations on Affordable Housing” engages industry leaders and policymakers in candid conversations about pressing housing issues.

We also have exciting events planned for the balance of this year. Our Solutions for Affordable Housing convening will take place on December 4, in-person and virtually, at the National Press Club. This event explores key national housing issues and the interplay between federal and local policies that shape them. Take advantage of early bird pricing by registering today. We look forward to seeing you there.

For all new NHC members who join for 2025 at the Basic or above levels, you will also receive membership for the remainder of 2024. And for current and new members, by joining, renewing, or upgrading to a Basic membership by October 31, you will also receive two complimentary virtual tickets to our 2024 Solutions for Affordable Housing convening. Full members and above will receive these tickets, as well as extra benefits for the 2025 Housing Visionary Awards Gala described below.

  • Platinum and Gold members will enjoy a complimentary full-page ad in the 2025 NHC Visionary Awards Gala tribute book and a full-page digital ad to be displayed at The Anthem during the Gala.
  • Silver members will receive a complimentary half-page ad in the 2025 NHC Visionary Awards Gala tribute book and a half-page digital ad to be displayed at The Anthem during the Gala.

As an organization, NHC works every day to bridge the gaps between our diverse members and offer a place for housers to come together to find solutions to our affordable housing policy challenges. Our ability to represent your interests effectively depends on the financial and intellectual support of our members. We are eager to work with you in the coming year to tackle America’s affordable housing challenges together.
