Biography:
Andrew Shunkwiler joined NHC as Controller in June 2025. Previously, he worked as an independent Certified Public Accountant (CPA) specializing in nonprofit accounting support and reporting. After graduating from the University of Maryland in 2015, he began his career at EY in their Financial Services audit group, primarily focusing on Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) and Asset Management firms. After earning his CPA certification from the state of MD in 2018, he joined CohnReznick’s Bethesda office, where he worked with NHC as a consultant, beginning his specialization in nonprofit accounting and planting the seed for him to return to the organization in 2025.
