The National Housing Conference (NHC) recently announced that Kimani Little of Federal Home Loan Bank of New York and Connie Wright of Wells Fargo has joined NHC’s Board of Governors.
[Buzz] Roberts notes that the proposal has earned support from a variety of organizations, including Enterprise Community Partners, Habitat for Humanity, Local Initiatives Support Corp., Mortgage Bankers Association, National Association of Realtors, National Council of State Housing Agencies, National Housing Conference, and National NeighborWorks Association.
Hope Credit Union and Hope Enterprise Corporation were recognized with the 2019 Housing Visionary Award from the National Housing Conference during a gala here that recognized organizations and individuals making significant contributions toward advancing affordable housing.

The bill has also been endorsed by the National Association of Real Estate Brokers, the Community Home Lenders Association, the National Housing Conference, the National Community Reinvestment Coalition, the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals and the National Consumer Law Center on behalf of its low-income clients.
The National Housing Conference, a nonprofit organization that advocates for affordable housing nationwide, presented Jackson-based Hope Enterprise Corporation with its 2019 Housing Visionary Award during its annual Housing Visionary Awards Gala in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, June 6.
“Generally, when rates are lower you want to refinance, especially if you’re in a adjustable rate mortgage and have an opportunity to go into a fixed-rate [mortgage], and lock that price in. But where we are now, after many years, most people have refinanced.” -David M. Dworkin
“We are millions of units short of affordable housing and the result is that nearly half of all renters spend more than 30 percent of their income on rent,” said David M. Dworkin, the National Housing Conference’s president and CEO, in a statement. “This legislation is an important step towards closing the housing supply gap, but there’s much more to do.”
“But at least the firefighters and plumbers can afford to rent here, while a bank teller must spend almost 60 percent of his or her income on rent, according to a report on key workers and housing commissioned by Housing Colorado from the National Housing Conference that was released Thursday.”
