Understanding Housing Needs in Your Community Using Data from the American Community Survey

February 13, 2015

The American Community Survey (ACS) can be a great source of data for analyzing housing needs in your community. Sometimes, however, finding the right information using the Census Bureau’s American FactFinder can be complicated. And once you’ve found the data, it is sometimes a challenge to figure out how to present the data effectively. This webinar demonstrated how to find local demographic and housing data from the ACS and provided guidance for effective ways to present the data to describe housing affordability and needs. During the webinar, participants developed example needs analysis using ACS data. In addition, there was a hands-on portion of the webinar where participants gathered data for their own community and analyzed their own housing needs.
