This event is the only national convening for housing communications leaders. Housing experts, thought leaders, policymakers, and journalists from across the United States convened for a full day of sessions exploring communications and messaging strategies for successfully expanding awareness about the importance of affordable housing both at the national level and within local communities.

Opening Remarks and Fireside Chat with Congressman Mike Flood (R-Neb.)

The convening opened with a conversation between Congressman Mike Flood (R-Neb.) and Duane Duncan with Enact. Congressman Flood emphasized the importance of bipartisan collaboration on housing policy, highlighting his work with Rep. Emanuel Cleaver to reauthorize the HOME and CDBG programs. He also expressed strong support for the LIHTC and urged caution on efforts to privatize the GSEs.
